randi's married.

One of my best friends, Mrs. Randi Bennion was married on Tuesday!  I felt so lucky to be apart of hers and Tobin's beautiful wedding this last week, and celebrate with showers, bachelorette parties, and so much more in preparation of their big day.  More pictures to come! :) Congrats Reg.

weekend update

Labor Day kicked off the week with brunch up at the Homestead with my parents.  Later that day, TT and I went on a long walk with Crew, watched a movie or two, and played games.  Tuesday night after work I met my mom and sister at Cafe Molise before we saw the Broadway production of Mary Poppins.
The food is Italian, and the restaurant is right in the heart of downtown Salt Lake.  We weren't completely sure how felt about our meal, but wouldn't mind trying it again.  Seeing Mary Poppins reminded me of how much I really love the classic Disney movies, and songs!
Thursday night we had a shower for miss Randi in my parents backyard.  I get to work with these beautiful ladies!  On the menu was broccoli quiche, strawberry pistachio salad, almond poppy seed muffins,  a sherbet shine drink, and lots of jordan almonds.  It was delicious.
Oh yes.  When I got up to Midway last weekend, my mom and Grandma promised me they wouldn't have dessert with out.  I ended up taking longer than expected, and didn't make it up there until around 10pm.  They stayed true to their word, and we jumped in my car to go for shakes and sherbet cones at Dairy Keen.  It was so enjoyable going on a late night eat in with these two!  We originally sought out some fresh pie, but the majority of Heber was already closed, so we settled for banana cream pie shakes instead!
It's been a great week!  And this next week, is rivalry week.  I plan on making it a good one at our place!

A Fairytale Shower

Newsflash: Randi is getting married.  And we're all so excited for her.  Tonight we threw a shower for some of Randi's friends, at the beautiful Sarah's home.  The food was fantastic, the decorations were beautiful, and there was such a fun theme!  Everyone was assigned a specific fairytale, and their gift was supposed to be based from it.  For example:  our friend Carly was given Rapunzel, so she gifted Randi a frying pan... how clever (If of course you've seen Tangled)!
What a fun night!

a REAL-ly cold game

Our friends take us to ReAL games.  On the front row.  We have good friends.  TT didn't exactly dress for the event.  It started to snow/rain, and he was wearing shorts and a sweater.  I tried to get him a beanie so he could stay warm but they were sold out.
David Beckham was in town. But more importantly, Jimmer was at the game, and we saw him on the big screen.  Jimmer for life!
This gorgeous couple just moved into their first house over the weekend and it is just dreamy.
Kind of a creepy looking mascot.  TT told me I shouldn't get a picture with a mascot if I don't know their name.  Obviously it's XANGO.  We found ourselves at Market Street Grill after for some late night dessert and appetizer.  Hope everyone had a good weekend!

A Family Picture

This morning we met the amazing Christine Olson for a little family photo session.  She's amazing, and she just sent me a sneak peak from today.  Bonus: she shoots film and digital.  Yes please.  TT was so not excited for today, but it ended up being super fun and enjoyable for both of us...  dream come true.  If anyone in the Salt Lake area needs pictures taken, seriously contact her.  She's fabulous.
Thanks again!!

st. pattys day

Two years ago I was in Ireland.  Good  great times.
I was in Ireland two years ago, with my girls from study abroad.  It was so fun it hurts to think about it. These are the streets in Ireland.
Liz and I walking on the windy Cliffs of Moor.
Highlights of the Ireland trip: Ryan Air flight, coat rack, Guiness Beer Tour (asking for diet coke instead of free beer), walking around Dublin, cliffs of Moor, our awesome tour guide, souvies, real Irish redheads, the hostel...ahh let's go back!

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!

Cookie Cake Party

Finally!  My mom gave me this rockin' cake pan at a wedding shower because she knows how much TT and I love (understatement) oreos.  I finally used it for the first time for Meg's mini birthday celebration.  I love it!  And Crew wanted to love it, and TT did love it.
Crew wanted to love it...
And TT did love it.
I love trick candles, and These were definitely tricky.

Skinny Stripes

Okay, thank you all for the colored jeans support! I definitely appreciate it.  Today on my way home from school my seeester called and asked if I would be home for a sec.  Next thing I know she's swinging by our place just to drop me off a card and a gift certificate.  For NO reason.  I'm pretty sure I have the best sister in the world. Then, I get to work, and this girl says, "Meg, I saw this wonderful cookie at Carlucci's (awesome downtown bakery/cafe) and totally thought, Meg would like this." And lets just say she was right.  Don't you just love it when people do random acts of kindness?  Especially for you? It SO made my day. I feel like I'm always thinking about things I could do, but very rarely do I follow through with it.  Goal: do something nice for someone tomorrow.  (hmmm...who should I pick?)
I'm wearing my skinnys...again.  This is gross, but I'll confess.  They were in a laundry pile, but at least they were on the very top of that laundry pile, and I took them off it and put them on.  I don't even want to part with them so they can be washed. That's sad.
What I'm Wearing:
Coat: Gap (also worn here)
Watch: Fossil, gifted
Shirt: F21, purchased yesterday for a screamin' deal (someone asked me if it was Banana Republic...win.)
Boots: Aldo, worn very few times, and today a button fell off.

My parents got a pool table today. Let the competition begin.

Inspired Much by clothedmuch

Last November, my eyes were opened by this new world (to me) of fashion bloggers, and I got excited!!  I've always loved fashion, shopping, and trends, but all these fashion bloggers instantly started to inspire me simply by sharing their daily wear. One day I found this one particular blog: clothedmuch.

I instantly fell in love.  Why?  Elaine puts together fabulous outfits, and they're affordable!!  She always seems to have created something new out of pieces she already has.  I'm convinced it's a gift. I was so excited when I learned she lived in downtown Salt Lake, about 15 minutes away from me.  I had to meet her.  Since then, we've become friends, and I've seen her closet. To be truthful, it's probably 1/5th the size of mine(this isn't bragging, it's me being jealous), yet she seems to have a gazillion more outfits than me.  How is this possible? She's creative.  For most of you who already know her, here's a small glimpse into clothedmuch.

Q: Do you plan your outfits the night before, or are you constantly thinking of how to piece what you already own together?

A:I do both of those! Sometimes I plan ahead and sometimes I know I want to wear a few specific pieces and work my way from there, or I just wear whatever I feel like that morning! I am not a morning person so I usually do it the night before...as in I stare at my closet for an hour or so! Sometimes it gets disheartening but it's always nice to know I created something new and a little better than before.

Q:Do you cook? If yes, what's your never fail recipe?

A: I try to cook.. I can't say I'm great at it but it's coming! We try to cook every night although it is difficult when my husband and I are gone all day and are tired by the time we come home. We have a few recipes that we fall back on when things get tough: Peanut noodles with veggies, chicken coconut curry, crepes, biscuits with gravy, pancakes...any breakfast foods really!

Q:Where do YOU find inspiration for your own wardrobe?

A: Definitely fashion blogs and street style!!
Q:Your idea of a perfect day?

A:Eating good food, watching movies, playing games.... with both my husband's and my family because they all live so far away.

Q:Your favorite book?

A: A childhood favorite of mine.. Ella Enchanted. I can't remember how many times I've read it!

Q: One thing you're looking forward to?
A: GRADUATING! and starting a family....one day.

What else inspires me about Elaine?  She's genuine, a friend, and she embraces who she is.  Thanks Elaine! To see more of our first meet up, look here.

Little Miss Erika

Since it's finals this week, I've been buried in books and really the last thing I have had time for is thinking ahead for what to wear.  This has resulted in jeans and a different jacket, zip-up, or t-shirt everyday this week, and that's just not really blog worthy at all.  However, my good friend Erika, always knows just what to wear.  This is one girl whose not afraid to embrace her own style. I love her love for fashion.

What I love about this outfit: this is classy, and simple at the same time.  Who doesn't have a black top, jeans, and boots?  Erika makes a simple idea look very fashionable.  Plus, I think I could recreate something like this straight from my closet- and I love that.

Top: J.Crew (she should model for them) - looks like a shirt, but it is really more like a sweater.
Jeans: Banana Republic skinnys Boots: unknown.

The outfit is complete with just a few simple accessories.  Note the watch, and painted finger nails.  I always consider freshly manicured/painted hands an accessory.  Finger nail polish can draw attention just as well as a fun pair of earrings, or a necklace.

This is so helpful for me!  I think I can create my own version of this outfit, simply with what's ALREADY in my closet.  Thanks Erika for being so fashionable!
