Silky Stripes

The Monday following spring break...  It's like I have to be reminded all over again how to get up super early and go to class, and I have to refresh myself on everything I'm learning.  It's scary how much you can forget in one week.  One thing I did love about my break was that I read... and it wasn't a text book.  I have a stack of books I can't wait to read after this semester.  What's your favorite book?  Any suggestions for me to put on my list?
Can you see this nail polish?  It is soo cute in the bottle, and soo not cute on.  It looks like I have mint chocolate chip ice cream dripping all over my hands.  Oh well.  I still love Essie's spring collection.
What I'm Wearing:
Silk Shirt: J. Crew
Jeans: Suzy (seen here)
Shoes: Target (seen here)
Jacket: Banana Republic

How do you style silk shirts?  I need suggestions!! Happy Monday!

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my fav books.

Maybe you could wear a button down open over a tee shirt and belt.

Wonderful top, and I never would have guessed Tar-gey on the shoes. As for reading, I highly recommend The Seamstress. I didn't want it to end!

i think you're doing it just right! loose silk shirts with a more fitted bottom.

First of all I love the coat!!!!! Second, I love both suggestions of books. "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn", one of the best. "The Seamstress", fabulous!!! Go to my blog for other good ones!!! Check out my shelfari!!!!!

i love the blouse. silk can be hard since it doesn't always skim the body, it floats above the body. i love pairing my silk blouses with something slightly more substantial or fitted. perhaps a coral cardi and a shortish skirt? but, black and white is my fave combo and you are killing it in those jeans!

my all time fave book is gone with the wind. i read it for the first time when i was 11 and it changed me. i try and read it every summer. beautiful descriptions, heartache, humor, romance, non-preachy social perspective. LOVE IT. {my daughter's name is scarlett, just to give you an idea!}

Do you like biographies? If you do, I totally loved David McCullough's John Adams. It's pretty thick, but very well written and I learned so much! You look lovely as always. Excited for Thursday! Oooh, and I need to come visit you soon. I need a new card reader.

Really liking the black skinnies. Classic, but not in an un-boring way. Very nice!

i actually bought that same color and just put it on 2 hours ago. i had the same thought :/

the essie lilac is much better though, not as shocking and just as cute on the digits as in the bottle
