Blazing Blazers

What I'm Wearing:
Blazer: Nordstrom, by Trouve
T: Banana Republic, double layer
Jeans: Rock & Republic

Lately I just haven't really had time to look at my clothes and think about how I could wear them, or  how I could create new outfits.  Whenever I'm not sure what to wear I always default to jeans, and a t-shirt of some sort.  That's exactly what's has happened today.  Speaking of jeans, I have a concern - now that I'm frequently wearing skinny jeans, I find myself cruelly judging my other jeans on me.  The ones on me are "straight leg" but I feel like they look super baggy, and unflattering on me.  It makes me want to always wear skinnys if I'm going to wear jeans.  The problem is, I have too many "boot cut" "high wasted" "wide leg" styles and I'm not interested in them.  What do I do?? How can I be more creative with the jeans I'm not loving? Or what should I do with them?

My other thought:  blazers are a must have for every wardrobe.  For example: I didn't quite feel dressy enough wearing this t and jeans, but I threw the blazer on and it totally dressed it up a notch.  That's why I want this one too.  You could have a graphic T and skinny jeans, and a sleek blazer  can give it a whole new and very chic look.  Blazers are my friend!

LOVE your blazer!! Where is it from?

And I totally know what you mean about skinnies... That's why I only have four now! And two are skinnies!! LOL!

I think they look great! Do you think your other styles are too casual and baggy? Try dressing them up as much as possible. Wear heels and a great blazer :) I wish I had wide-leg jeans, they look so chic on Christine from http://www.mystylepill.com/
Good luck!

Love this, the combination of taupe and pink is so prety :)

I love the slouchy style of the blazer, it totally works with the jeans and tshirt.

I have no idea about the jeans dilemma though (experiencing a similar problem myself). If you can't find a way to wear them that makes you happy, get rid!

This advice may be completely unhelpful, but I go through cycles of liking my clothes. So if I'm in a phase where I like one pair of jeans and hate all the others {and the others still fit well and could be considered cute by others}, then I wear the ones I like until I'm tired of them. I'll like the other ones again eventually. But maybe that's just me. It happens all the time with me.

you should make a couple pairs into shorts. i did that with some ollldddd flared ones i had and seeing as i will probably never sport a flare i am very happy with the outcome!

Thank you for your comment! I really appreciated your kind words.

I'm always super insecure about my writing :S

You look cute in skinny jeans. Unfortunately, I can't pull them off because I think I'd look like a light bulb (I'm a bit more curvy... yes, that's the nice word for it.) I'm not a fashionista, but I stick with wide leg or boot cuts in dark rinses because they flatter my shape. I say keep the jeans you don't love... especially if they fit. You'll find a way to work them in.

I would love to be able to pull off blazers, but I look like I've just come home from school. You look great though lovely!

I love blazers! They add a touch of chic style to every outfit. I too have loads of bootcut jeans I just don't get along with - they just languish in my wardrobe, so if you think of anything do let me know!

Hello!

I think you would feel so much better in the jeans you are wearing if you had them hemmed. They will look and feel better at a length made for flats. It's not very expensive at a dry cleaners or if you feel creative go get the scissors and some thick thread!

i think the straight leg jeans look great. the "bagginess" isn't really a problem since they're fitted at the top. they just put off a different vibe than skinnies. and thank you for the encouragment left on my blog. i'll be back, just not right now.

You remind me of a blonde Audrey Hepburn in this picture - and your ensemble! I absolutely love it - so cute!!

I have a blazer sitting in my closet that I have NEVER before worn - maybe it's time to take it out for a test...wear. :)

i know exactly what you mean about jeans!!! mine all feel too loose and i can't bear to put on almost anything but skinnies in the morning.
if you figure out what to do with these old jeans, i want to hear!

Thanks for the comment!

I'm struggling with jeans as well. I WANT to wear skinny jeans, but my body is too... well... post baby right now. I think I'd just look like a jean jelly bean.

eBay the ones you don't want!

so love this blazer. i always worried that i couldn't do blazers because of my mom status(i didn't want to look too early 90s and be mistaken for someone who didn't know what they were doing) but you have proven me wrong. this is perfecto.
and the jeans may feel loose, but i think they are the perfect juxataposition for the rest of the outfit. fresh.
