A Wild Grape

Today my mom met me downtown for a little lunch in between our busy schedules.  One of my all time favorite things to lunch with my favorite loved ones.  Something about going to lunch is just so relaxing and good for the soul.  For anyone in Salt Lake-- we ate at the wild Grape, NOT my fav.

I feel like this is a super classic outfit.  Denim and cords.  This denim shirt is meant to be extra big, it's a small, and I usually wear a medium/sometimes large.  I think it's meant to be worn differently, and I'll show you how the next time I wear it.  How would you have worn this combo differently?  Would you have added a cardigan?  I just don't know.  This shows off my super short torso.  Great.
What I'm wearing:

Oh, made a purchase I probably shouldn't have today.  I can't wait to show you!  But it will be 10-14 business days before this purchase arrives on my door step.  I have a new love for shopping online, but I rarely buy.  I usually just put the items in my cart and call it good, and a part of me feels like I actually got it.  This time I followed the purchase through to the end.  Success.

I'm planning on wearing my denim shirt tomorrow... :) I would've paired it with your white leather jacket! And what is your recent purchase?? I just bought a few things from e.l.f. Can't wait!

I totally know what you mean by adding things to a cart and feeling fulfilled. I love your flats btw!
I think the outfit looks great without a cardigan, it is super classy.

I'm excited to see your new purchase! Sounds fun.

Going for lunch with my girlfriends is one of my favourite things to do. There's something utterly decadent about it - especially on a weekday!

Can't wait to see your purchase! I found your blog via Elaine a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE it. Your outfits are gorgeous. But I love your grin in the photos too.

Your new hairdo is also contributing to my restless hair stage which happens every two years!

Smiles all the way from Australia

I love the denim shirt!
I always find things I love, mainly in the sales, and add it to my cart but never follow through with the purchase! It always makes me think really carefully about whether I really need something or not!

Actually, this outfit makes your legs look really long, so the "short torso" is a bygone.

The purse is goregous. I wouldn't change much about this outfit. The fit is great, the colors have depth and the purse is a stand-out. If you really wanted to add something, maybe a lucite or bakelite bangle in a primary color?

I am going to try your shopping/not shopping technique. itch the scratch.

i am also a big believer in almost shopping. feels good.
and i want to stick my head in that purse, i LOVE it.
perhaps to deal with the proportion issue, a long necklace? something a little rough, natural stones or something like that?
or, sometimes just cuffing my pants just a inch or two makes me feel a little more fresh!
